World Tobacco Day - 31st May -Tobacco Breakes Hearts

Health is like money. You never know the value of it until you lost it.
 

This day is celebrated to aware people about effects of chewing tobacco and Nicotine that causes cancer and many severe diseases.

WHO(World Health Organization) is the organization which came up with the idea of the world no tobacco day since 1987. 31st may is the day celebrated to highlight the risk associated with the tobacco and encourage the government to adopt policies to reduce smoking and other tobacco uses.

Tobacco use is an important risk factor for the development of coronary heart disease, stroke, and peripheral vascular disease. 

According to WHO, tobacco use kills more than 7 million people around the world each year, and that number is predicted to grow unless anti-tobacco actions are increased. In the United States, tobacco use is the largest preventable cause of death and disease. It causes many types of cancer, as well as heart disease, stroke, lung disease, and other health problems.

World No Tobacco Day is observed across the world on May 31.Tobacco is one of the most common forms of addiction.

A Global Adult Tobacco Survey (GATS-2) report shows that India is the second largest consumer of tobacco products with 28.6 percent of the population addicted to it in any form. Of this, 10.7 per cent smoke, and 21.4 percent use Smokeless Tobacco.

Tobacco-related disease causes death of more than 7 million people per year worldwide, of which nearly 900,000 non-smokers die from passive smoking

Each year, the WHO selects a theme for the day in order to create a more unified global message for WNTD. This theme then becomes the central component of the WHO’s tobacco-related agenda for the following year
